Work at TPSTA
We train Texas fire, EMS, and security professionals — and we hire the same. If you are a certified instructor, a first responder, or want to support the mission from the office, we want to hear from you.
Certified fire, EMS, and security instructors to teach in the classroom and on the training ground.
Paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters to support live training, skills days, and standby operations.
Administrative, records, and operations roles that keep cohorts moving and students supported.
Volunteer with TPSTA
Not looking for a job but still want to help? Our students learn faster when real people show up. Somebody has to play the patient on scenario day, and somebody has to tell the next town over that this training exists. That's volunteer work, and we need it.
- Course & event support
Be a patient on scenario days, help with moulage, and reset skills stations between runs. On testing days we need people at the sign-in desk, timing stations, and setting up and tearing down. No medical or fire background needed. We'll show you everything when you get there.
- Equipment & apparatus maintenance
Training gear takes a beating. Help us clean and check equipment after courses, keep the props and training vehicles ready, and stock supplies so instructors aren't hunting for gloves at 7 a.m.
- Community outreach & recruiting
Staff our booth at career fairs and school visits, help at community CPR and safety events, and tell people in your town this training exists. If you like talking to people, this is your lane.
What to expect: volunteers must be 18 or older, and none of these roles need a certification or license. A background check may be required before you're placed, since volunteers work around our students. There's no fixed schedule. We reach out when an event or work day comes up, and you take what fits your life.
What you get: written verification of your volunteer hours for school, scholarship, or resume purposes, and a front-row look at how first responders are actually trained.
Volunteer positions are unpaid and do not create an employment relationship.
How to apply
Fill out the online Application for Employment. It takes about ten minutes and no account is required. We review every application and reach out when there is a fit.
